Types of steel sheet piles

Steel sheet pile is a kind of steel structure with a linkage device on the edge, and this linkage device can be freely combined to form a continuous and compact retaining wall or water retaining wall.

Its predecessor was a sheet pile made of wood or cast iron. The basic structure of steel sheet piles includes: steel sheet piles and curved lock structures on both sides.

As an efficient building material for building foundation construction, steel sheet piles can be divided into two categories: hot-rolled and cold-formed.

Cold formed steel sheet pile (Cold formed steel sheet pile), using a thinner plate, continuous roll forming by cold forming unit. The production cost is low, and the fixed-length control is flexible. According to the actual situation of the project, the most economical and reasonable section can be selected to achieve the optimization of the engineering design.

In actual production, it is difficult to control the shape of the joints of the cold-formed steel sheet pile locks, and the joints are not tightly locked and unable to stop water; restricted by the capacity of cold-formed processing equipment, they can only produce products with low steel strength and thinner thickness; and The stress generated during the cold bending process is relatively large, and the pile body is easy to tear during use, which has relatively large processing and use limitations, and is mostly used as a supplement to the applied material. Therefore, hot-rolled steel sheet piles have become the mainstream of steel sheet pile product development.

Hot rolled steel sheet pile (Hot rolled steel sheet pile) adopts continuous casting and rolling process, which is formed by high temperature rolling by billet mill and rail beam rolling mill or universal rolling mill. It has standardized dimensions, stable performance, reasonable cross section, high quality and water stop Good, strong durability and other advantages. At present, the maximum width of a single piece of hot-processed steel sheet piles in the world can reach about 900mm, and the section modulus of a single piece can reach 4000cm3. According to the cross-sectional shape, hot-rolled steel sheet piles are divided into U-shaped, Z-shaped, H-shaped, AS-shaped and straight-line types, as shown in the figure. Because the production, processing and installation of steel sheet piles such as Z-type, H-type, and AS-type are more complicated, and the price is about 1/3 higher than that of U-type, they are mainly used in Europe and the United States, and most of them are used in the entire Asia-Pacific region including my country U-shaped steel sheet pile.

The code name of U-shaped steel sheet pile is SP-U (SP-sheet pile), which has two types: Belval U (BU) and Arbed U (AU). (1) The width of the more commonly used BU-shaped steel sheet pile is generally 600mm; the resistance moment of its elastic section can be from 600cm3/m to 3300cm3/m; the repeated use rate can reach 30 times; very thick and dense, suitable for high salinity correlation Project, strong durability. (2) The width of the AU-shaped steel sheet pile is 750mm, and the resistance moment of the elastic section is from 1400cm3/m to 2600cm3/m; compared with the BU-shaped steel sheet pile, the AU-shaped steel sheet pile is thinner, lighter but stronger; in addition, the angle is large and convenient Pull out the sheet pile from the soil.
